Her scorn burned like a thousand suns.

This is the initial image in the series of "Denys Deconstructed". It was the first thing I thought when I saw the image.

Denys Deconstructed

These are shots of my friend Denys. After taking the original set of images I downloaded them to my computer, brought them up on screen and then re-shot them all. Despite the posterized effect that most people believe is all done in photoshop, I use an old Sonly DSC-F707 camera with a "solarize" setting. I selected that setting then used the camera manually to re-shoot these images. I love re-shooting off my computer screen. Sometimes I will shoot and re-shoot over and over to achieve the "degraded" effect on the images.

Brian's party shots

Shots of Brian enjoying his birthday party. The top (horizontal) shot is original. The other two were downloaded and re-shot off my computer screen.

Form and colour

Sometimes, it is great to get away from the product shots, the portraits, assorted client work and just play around with form and colour. I find it is a great way to spark creativity and allows me to go off in new directions I hadn't considered before.

Vancouver's new Rav Line

I took a ride on the new Canada Line (Rav) that runs from downtown Vancouver out to the airport and beyond to Richmond. Clean, fast, quiet and inexpensive. Built under budget and on time...early actually. I grabbed some shots as I rode the line and typical to what I like to shoot I messed with the pix afterwards to get something more interesting, at least to me.

Kewpie!

New shot of a kewpie doll. I started with creating the background which was shot from one of the shelves at www.momentumgrooming.com while I was shooting product for them. Then I print out the shelving shot and use it as a background for other objects starting with this awesome little doll.
